Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Safeguarding Children, Young people & Vulnerable People
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHCs) are lay members of the parish who assist in the distribution of Holy Communion during Mass and bring the Eucharist to those who are unable to attend, such as the sick, elderly, or homebound. This ministry is a vital expression of Christ’s love and the Church’s care for all its members, ensuring that no one is deprived of the spiritual nourishment of the Eucharist due to illness, age, or other limitations.
If you feel called to serve as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, you are invited to express your interest to the Parish Office. Training and ongoing formation will be provided to help you serve faithfully and reverently in this important ministry13.
“Their hands become vessels of grace, carrying the tangible presence of Christ to the doorsteps of the faithful… It’s about bringing Jesus to their doorstep, affirming His presence in their lives, and letting them know that they are not forgotten.”1
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are essential to the life of our parish, helping to unite the community in the love and presence of Christ.
